OWC Membership

The Old Williamsonian Club Committee made the decision to cease annual subscriptions to the Mother Club (OW Membership). If you have not cancelled this payment yet, please do so.. This is separate to any subscriptions that are required by active players in their respective section(s). There will be OWs who may still wish to support the Club and its activities and sporting sections in a financial capacity. In which case you can retain your annual payment. Alternatively you can support it by buying shares in the 200 Club, details of which can be found on the 200 Club tab.

OW Membership is now open to all past pupils of the School. Should you wish to be an active member and receive the bi-annual OWC Newsletter then please send your details ( full name, school years, phone number, email address and postal address) to Dan Harrison (danharrison01@hotmail.com) or Vikki King (vikkiking85@hotmail.co.uk) stating your preferred method of communication.

JOHN HAYDON

Sadly, we have learnt of the passing on John Haydon on 5th January 2024. John left the School left in 1960 having joined in 1953

His younger brother David, a school year younger, also went to the Math. Both became doctors, David as a GP in Buckinghamshire and John in the Royal Navy. John's eldest son, Richard, followed suit and is a doctor in Australia.

Sadly, John had a massive stroke and ended up in Haslar Military Hospital and although he was poorly there was still a spark of enthusiasm for life. Subsequently he left the Navy and joined the Ministry of Defence where he was an expert in deep sea diving. But more recently he was a shadow of his former self physically but mentally as bright as ever.

We send our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

Our thanks go to David Swan for providing the information about John’s life.
